Let's be honest: wedding planning comes with LOTS of questions!

Even though when I got engaged I was two years into the wedding industry, I still felt like my list of questions was never ending. I totally get it!

That's why I've compiled a list of some of my most asked questions to put your mind at ease and give you quick access to thoughtful answers.

How long have you been a photographer?
I started my photography business in 2016 and have photographed hundreds of couples, individuals and families over the past five years. In 2019, I made the shift to solely focus on weddings, perfecting my skills and curating a unique wedding experience for each of my couples.
What makes your work different?
My undergraduate degree is in journalism with minors in graphic design and visual art which plays a huge role in my style of photography. I have formal training in fine art, as well as a lot of experience in telling stories in a compelling and accurate way. My photography is a combination of editorial and documentary styles. I love capturing moments for what they are and highlighting the in between things that go unnoticed in an artistic and intentional way. While my verbal approach is more candid, as I give my couples a lot of direction and encouragement to help them look and feel their best, my shooting style is more editorial in the way I compose images utilizing light and color theory.
How do you prepare for the wedding day?
I pride myself in how detail oriented and organized I am when it comes to preparation. Before the wedding, we’ll do a few phone consultations throughout the planning process. I also send out a full 40+ page wedding prep guide to help you set your day up for photo success (if photos are important to you!). Two months out from the wedding I’ll send a detailed questionnaire walking you through exactly what and how to send all of your wedding day info to me, then I compile a detailed day-of run sheet and photo timeline.
How do you ensure our photos are safe and sound?
Both of my cameras have dual card slots meaning each image taken at your wedding is being recorded in 2 places. After the wedding day, your images are backed up onto an external hard drive, my desktop computer, the cloud, and both memory cards are saved until your gallery is delivered!

What is the turnaround time for weddings and sessions?
A huge part of the experience I give my clients is a quick turnaround time! Sessions are turned around within one week (typically more like 4 days) and weddings are turned around in 6-8 weeks to ensure each image is edited carefully, but you'll always get sneak peeks within 38 hours..
We’ve never had professional photos taken before, can you help direct us?
Yes!! You do not have to be models to have beautiful wedding photos! I give my clients lots of direction and encouragement when you’re in front of the lens to make you feel comfortable and confident the whole time. I am your personal hype woman for the day – but in a calmer sense of the word. I'm more soft-spoken and relaxed but also have the ability to take command in chaotic environments (like wrangling your entire family for family photos).

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, Grace Jicha Creative LLC is a licensed business and we carry general liability insurance.

Can you travel for my wedding?
Heck yes! Travel is a huge part of my life and my business, and I’ve shot in Florida, New York, Utah, California, Pennsylvania and more. I have packages curated for local, non local FL, U.S.A and international weddings including travel. You can see the starting prices here.
How far in advance should I book my wedding/session?
Weddings typically book 10-14 months out, and my sessions about 4-6 weeks out! My months typically fully book at least 1-2 months out for lifestyle sessions, and 9 months out for weddings.
Do you have experience working in different lighting and weather situations?
Absolutely! Weddings are extremely uncontrolled environments and I have lots of experience working all types of weddings, handling different family dynamics and taking control of situations when necessary.
